OBL’s brother-in-law comes out to save her sister (Part One)
Wednesday, March 21st, 2012 10:03:08 by Faisal FarooqSlain Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden’s brother-in-law, Zakaria Al Sadah, filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for the dismissal of case against his sister Amal Abdul Fattah Al sada and her children.
He pleaded his sister and her five children be allowed to go back to Yemen. Filing the petition through his counsel, Amir Khalil Advocate, Zakaria made Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Defence respondent.
Chief Justice of IHC Iqbal Hameed ur Rehman will hear the petition today (Wednesday). Earlier, the District Court Islamabad has remanded Osama’s family, including his three widows, in judicial custody for nine days on March 17.
Bin Laden’s youngest wife, Yemeni national Amal Abdul Fattah, and her five children were remanded into judicial custody on Saturday for illegally entering and residing in Pakistan. Bin Laden’s youngest wife Amal Abdulfattah was with him in Abbottabad when he was killed last year.
Zakaria, in his petition, said that after May 2 Operation, his sister and her five children were detained by Pakistanis security agencies.
Initially, they were in the custody of ISI, and were later handed over to Ministry of Interior. Osama’s children are Safiah, 12, Asia, 10, Ibraheem, 8, Zainab, 5, and Hussain 3.
“Intelligence agencies have kept my sister and her children in illegal custody since the May 2 operation,” the pleader said. He claimed the authorities registered a fake and baseless case against his sister on March 1, 2012.
The Yemeni national claimed that he was asked by the Pakistani authorities on November 1 last year to come to Pakistan and take away his sister and her children.
He said, later, the authorities did not fulfill their promise. He said that after his hectic efforts, Yemen Embassy arranged his eight meetings with the detained family.
He said Pakistani authorities were not releasing Osama’s widow and children despite no incriminating act has been proved against them.
“Later they (OBL’s family) have been implicated in some flimsy offence with mala fide intention and ulterior motives,” he held.
