OBL’s brother-in-law comes out to save her sister (Part Two)
Wednesday, March 21st, 2012 10:03:13 by Faisal FarooqZakaria Al Sadah, the brother-in-law of slain Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden expressed fears that he might be pushed out from Pakistan to deprive his sister and her children of legal assistance.
Zakaria said that District and Session Judge Shahrukh Arjumand had also adjourned the petition of applicant till March 26 without passing any orders in respect of his and his counsel’s meeting with Amal.
He continued that he was issued Pakistani’s visa for 10 days and now authorities were on taking any decision on the application filed for the extension in visa period.
While referring to some articles of Pakistani Constitution and clauses of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), he said that registration of cases against his sister was violation of basic human rights.
Osama’s brother-in-law argued his sister could not be charged with harboring a criminal because she was living with her husband in her husband’s house. He also said that he and his counsel were being kept in dark about the case and the proceedings of the case were not transparent.
Zakaria requested the court to dismiss the case and allow him to meet his sister. He also pleaded the court to allow his relatives return to Yemen.
“The criminal cases registered with mala fide intension may be quashed and they may be ordered to the set at liberty,” Amal’s brother prayed in the petition. He said directions be given to the respondents to allowing him to meet with his sister.
Putting an objection on the plea, the registrar’s office of the IHC dispatched the matter to Chief Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman, who will either remove objection or sustain it in the open court on Wednesday (today).
Media reports on Tuesday claimed that Osama Bin Laden’s family members entered Pakistan via Afghanistan and being living in different areas on fake names and also getting treatments in different hospitals by hiding their real identity.
