Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G Review: A mid-range smartphone with a dual-core processor – Part 3
Thursday, March 22nd, 2012 11:53:25 by Usman KhalidSwype provides the virtual keyboard on this phone; if you don’t like it, the Samsung keyboard is your other default alternative. Sadly, Samsung left out the standard Android keyboard.
Above the screen you’ll see the 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and below it is where the four touch-sensitive navigation buttons sit for calling up the menu, going home, going back, and searching.
As far as the camera is concerned, it is one of the best but not the best, certainly not at par with iPhone 4S or Galaxy Note. With 5-mega pixel resolution snapper, Blaze 4G joins the niche club at Samsung that also sports the likes of Galaxy Nexus. With an LED flash support, the camera can capture the moments in still phone with a resolution up to 5-mega pixels. The camera does have hard time in accepting the natural light on a sunny day but the final product does have saturated colour distribution and very crisp details to the subjects.
However, the video department disappoints a little. Coming into 2012, the Korean company was expected to dump 720p in the mid-ranged to high-end phones. Yet, Blaze 4G comes with the same 720p video quality. However, at 30 fps the video quality is better than other phones. As with all phone cameras, the farther away the subjects are from the mic, the harder they are to hear. Video playback wasn’t jerky at all, and the picture was fairly clear, though if you compare this with the crispest 1080p video, you’ll definitely notice a difference.
