Laurene Powell Jobs makes the list of richest people in the world – Part 2

Upon the acquisition of Pixar by Walt Disney, Jobs owned the largest portion of the conglomerate’s stock, making him the main guy in the picture. When Apple acquired NeXt in 1997, Jobs owned the major part of the Cupertino-based company’s stake, which he never sold.

Powell Jobs has never been fond of being interviewed and has only appeared a few times on the camera. In the interview to Walter Isaacson, when he was writing Jobs’ biography, she cleared that she is not excited about being one of the riches.
“My relationship with money is that it’s a tool to be self-sufficient, but it’s not something that is a part of who I am,” Powell Jobs told Isaacson.

With an MBA from Stanford University‘s Graduate School of Business and experience as a fixed income trading strategist at Goldman Sachs, she is the founder and chair of the Emerson Collective. The collective, which does not maintain a website, focuses on using entrepreneurship to advance social reform and find solutions to help under-resourced students in America’s public schools, according to one description. She also serves on the boards of the New America Foundation and Teach for America.

Since his reacquisition by Apple, Jobs has been a difficult person to live with and being his wife, Powell Jobs had a tough job. They had three children together. Steve himself conceded to the point that Laurene has done a marvellous job as his wife, taking care of him in the sickness.

“Laurene had to deal with [my demands], and also with me being sick,” Jobs said. “I know that living with me is not a bowl of cherries.”
