The Gunners will square off against Alex McLeish’s side at the Emirates Stadium this Saturday. Arsene Wenger’s side have lost to Villans just once in their past six meetings. Arsenal is looking forward to extend their unbeaten run to seven games in a row
while Villa is unbeaten for the past three matches.
The home side has outgunned top class teams which includes 5-2 victory over their local rivals Tottenham Hotspurs; 2-1 victory over the 18-time league champions Liverpool; 3-0 success against the Italian champions AC Milan. The other two wins came against
Newcastle United and Everton.
Aston Villa on the other side of ground outclassed Fulham in their last match. However, they drew against Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic before heading to Emirates.
Arsenal is relief from having new injuries but Wenger will rotate some players after tumbling over the Toffees three days ago.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is most likely to start while Thomas Rosicky will be demoted to bench.
Jack Wilshere, who is ruled out since the start of the season due to an ankle injury, is most likely to return in the end of March. Abou Diaby and Francis Coquelin who are suffering from hamstring injuries are nearing to return to fitness but won’t be back
in this match.
For McLeish side, Richard Dunne is expected to return in early April while Charles N’Zogbia is also fighting to overcome a tweaked knee ligament. Villa is also without their main man, Darren Bent, who is ruled out for the remainder of the season. As a result,
Villa is now less aggressive and weakened from their attacking side.
Players to watch:
Theo Walcott will be the centre of attention at Emirates along with Robin Van Persie. Both are likely to score and create goals.
Verdict:
Arsenal will most likely to seal the deal with a 2-0 score line with goals from Van Persie and Walcott.
