Bollywood actress blames Irrfan Khan after receiving threatening call
Saturday, March 24th, 2012 12:36:37 by Imran Shaukat KhanA small time Bollywood actress Mamata Patel, who was recently featured along with Irrfan Khan in the film ‘Paan Singh Tomar’, has received some threatening calls from an unknown person as a result to which she has lodged a police complaint and surprisingly the actress has blamed her co-star Irrfan Khan, who played a lead role in the movie.
“A non-cognisable offence has been registered against an unidentified person for making a threatening call to actress Mamata Patel. She received the call yesterday when she was at her home in suburban Bhayandar,” said Arun Bhagt, senior inspector at Juhu police station.
“The actress claimed the caller threatened her that if she continued to talk bad about Irfan, she would face consequences,” said an officer at the police station.
The critically acclaimed movie ‘Paan Singh Tomar’, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, did exceptionally well at the Indian Box Office but according to the sources Mamata was not happy with her small role in it, as she claimed that Irrfan Khan and Dhulia made her a promise for a good role in the movie.
Mamata said a lot of things about Khan and Dhulia during a press interaction session. She insisted that the duo didn’t give her the credit and respect she deserved for her role! She further added that she was not even invited at the success party of the movie.
Well, all said and done, Irrfan Khan is a very well established name in the Bollywood industry and this is probably the first time he has ever landed in the middle of a controversy.
Another opinion among the audiences is that may be Mamata is just trying to follow the footsteps of Veena Malik and Rakhi Sawant, who always lock headlines for wrong reasons just to gain some media limelight.
However, let’s see what Irrfan Khan has to say about the whole situation.
