Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) on Saturday vowed to back the Supreme Court’s orders, saying it will not only follow the apex court’s verdicts but will also stand against who disrespect them.

PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif while speaking to the media with regard to the Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani’s contempt of court case observed, “People are making plans against the Supreme Court orders. This is extremely sad and is not acceptable at all”.

Slamming the PPP-led government, he said that it was not only the PPP, which is involved in corruption and other embezzlements, but the allied parties were also evenly creditworthy.

He observed, “The coalition parties are supporting the government in this unemployment, inflation and loadshedding. All the parties are equally involved in disparaging the Supreme Court”.

Replying to a query about opposition’s suggestions in the new terms of engagement with the United States (US) in light of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS)’s proposal, he informed that talks and discussions were underway and the recommendations could only be shared when completed.

Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani is currently facing contempt of court charges after he did not comply with the court’s ruling in the NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) implementation case.

Earlier on Saturday, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani also spoke with the media saying he had completed his four years despite the fact people were anticipating his exclusion anytime.

He asked the people to give vote to decent and deserving parties only whoever comes into power could not be removed. He observed, “People who are against democracy are predicting the dates of the government’s removal every day”.

Asking all institutions to work under the Constitution, he said stability in country could not come if the legislative assemblies would not complete their given tenures.

“I want strong institutions and supremacy of law in Pakistan. Zardari is the only president who handed over his powers to the Parliament”, he added.

In the concluding remarks, the premier said the PPP was the only party which had a high level of tolerance and that the criticism from the media was taken as advice by the party.
