Malaika Arora-Khan: I don’t look at anyone as competition

There are many item girls in the industry today who are entertaining the audiences pretty well but the original Bollywood item girl is none other than diva Malaika Arora Khan and she is not worried at all with all the competition, as she says she has never looked at anyone as competition.

The 38-year-old, who is also an Indian model, actress, television personality and former MTV VJ, recently had an interview with the DNA in which she talked about the actresses now taking up item numbers.

Though Malaika admitted that the competition has become increasingly intense in recent years, she said there is no pressure on her.

“I don’t look at anyone as competition. I am comfortable in my own space and I’m really secure about what I do, so there’s no question of worrying about other entrants in the picture,” said Malaika.

“I am not here to prove that I’m the best dancer in town. I dance simply because I enjoy dancing. It’s fun,” she added.

Meanwhile, Malaika, whose ‘Anarkali disco chali’ track in the upcoming film ‘Houseful 2’ is garnering a lot of appreciation, was asked if she has any plans of becoming a full-fledged B-town actress, on which she replied by saying a no.

“I’ve enjoyed my mini-stints in acting, but I’m not looking forward to getting into a full-fledged acting career as such. I believe in ‘never say never for anything in life’, but for now, I am happy dancing and as a producer making others dance to my tune,” she laughed.

Only a few can forget Malaika’s magnificent performance in the all-time favourite item numbers ‘Chhaiyaa Chhaiyya’ and ‘Munni’ but in ‘Chhaiyaa Chhaiyya’ she starred opposite to Shahrukh Khan whereas she had Salman Khan in ‘Munni’. Both superstars are archrivals but Malaika doesn’t feel any pressure of balancing between the two.

“Whatever’s between the two, is between them. That’s never affected us, so why choose between Shah Rukh and Salman?” smiled Malaika.
