Pakistan U-22 team to tour Thailand
Tuesday, March 27th, 2012 1:55:15 by Shahrukh SohailThe Pakistan U-22 National team is set to tour Thailand in order to prepare for the upcoming AFC Qualifiers.
Zavisa Milosavljevic’s men are set to undergo rigorous preparations so that they have achieved the necessary fitness when the qualifiers come around in June.
Firstly, the team is set to train in Thailand and then will also play a tournament in Palestine, which will give the coach the necessary time to implement his mentality in the squad.
A PFF official revealed that the camp will begin shortly and if did not materialize, then there would be practice games against local opposition.
“But the coach has given proposal to start the camp in the first week of April. If the tour was not made then effort would be made to arrange a few practice games for the team against KRL and Pakistan Under-19 teams.”
He also added that the tour was still being finalized, as the two concerned Federations were still negotiating.
“Following our request, Thailand has told us to send the names of the players. But unless we get an official confirmation letter from them, we cannot comment on it.”
“But I hope that the tour may be made any time in April.”
Lastly, he said the Serbian tactician had presented the PFF with a list of probables, which will then have some further additions from the U-19 team.
“Coach Zavisa Milosavljevic will give us the list of the probables which he has shortlisted during the National Football Challenge Cup tomorrow. We will also add six or seven players of the Under-19 to it,” the source was quoted as saying.
