Kareena Kapoor: Vidya and I are different

Bollywood’s ultimate diva, Kareena Kapoor, is the leading lady in the industry at this point in time and as far as the female stars are concerned there is no one out there who gives her a competition. However, Vidya Balan’s phenomenal rise as an actress, rather hero, has raised many eyebrows yet Kareena is not threatened by Balan’s success, as she thinks Balan and she do different kind of films.

Vidya rose to fame last year with her magnificent performance in the film ‘The Dirty Picture’ (for which she even bagged a National Award as well) and this year she proved herself once again in ‘Kahaani’. ‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Kahaani’ were both female oriented movies whereas Kareena has done different films like ‘Ra.One’, ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Omkara’ and others. Perhaps this is a reason why she thinks there are no comparisons between Balan and her.

“Vidya has been doing parallel cinema and its impressive that she is getting mainstream response at the box office for these films. She is doing great work. Vidya and I are different though. We do different kind of films. I have done Bodyguard and Omkara. What means the most to me is Box office success. It is more important for me than awards. I have always done entertaining films. Even ‘Heroine’ has enough glamour in it. I feel there is enough room for different actors. Audiences have different tastes” said Kareena.

The 34-year-old Balan is currently participating in the upcoming film ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’ and she has also signed ‘Ghanchakkar’, which will hit the cinemas next year.

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor, who recently played a lead role opposite to her beau Saif Ali Khan in ‘Agent Vinod’, will be seen in two more films this year, ‘Heroine’ and ‘Talaash’.

Well, all said and done, Vidya has certainly gained a lot of popularity but she is still nowhere near to Kareena when it comes to the Box Office collection.
