Saif Ali Khan: Agent Vinod has nothing against Pakistan
Tuesday, March 27th, 2012 4:13:48 by Waqas TariqThe ‘Chhote Nawab’ has claimed that his new movie ‘Agent Vinod’ has nothing against Pakistan after the country banned it from cinemas. The actor insisted that his film should not have been banned as it portrays the true reality about the Pakistan Army.
Saif Ali Khan claimed that Pakistan has doing this for the past many years as one of his films, Kurbaan, was also banned in the country. He insisted that the audience has the right to decide and insisted that the government has double standards. He admitted that there is nothing against Pakistan in the movie and the director has made a film close to reality.
“They have always banned our films, even Kurbaan was banned there. Ideally, I feel it should not be banned, but it is up to their government and their point of view. I don’t feel there is anything wrong in it [the film],” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ actor added that ‘Agent Vinod’ shows the Pakistan Army being involved with Taliban in Afghanistan which is a true story. He challenged that if any of the things shown in the movie are unrealistic or exaggerated, then the country has the right to ban it.
“We have shown how the Pakistan army is involved with Taliban. In Afghanistan, we have shown how they are encouraging terrorists’ activities in India, harbouring criminals from most-wanted lists. If any of this is unreasonable or untrue, then it is fair enough,” he concluded.
Agent Vinod released on Friday, March 23, and has been gathering good collections worldwide.
