Warner Bros’ Wrath of the Titans is a 2012 fantasy film which is scheduled to release on 30th March. It is a sequel to the 2010 movie, Clash of the Titans, and stars Sam Worthington, Rosamund Pike, Bill Nighy, Ralph Fieness and Liam Neeson.
The movie is set in decade after the happenings of its previous part. Perseus rescues his father, Zeus, captured by his son, Ares, and brother Hades who unleashed ancient Titans on the world. Ares and Hades betrayed Zeus after making a deal with Kronos.
IMDB gave it a score of 6.9 out of 10 based on 1,943 users while Meta Critic reported a score of 38 out of 100.
A review aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes, report a 23 per cent positive score based on 94 reviews. The site’s general consensus states, “Its 3D effects are an improvement over its predecessor’s, but in nearly every other respect, Wrath of the Titans fails
to improve upon the stilted acting, wooden dialogue, and chaos-driven plot of the franchise’s first installment.”
Toronto Star’s Peter Howell gave it a score of two out of four and declared, “Worthington remains a distinctly humourless hero, which makes you long for the likes of a prime-time Harrison Ford or Arnold Schwarzenegger, who knew how to make a fondue out of
cheese.”
Tyler Hanley of Palo Alto Weekly had a better opinion as he gave it a score of three out of four and declared, “While Wrath of the Titans may not be escapist fantasy entertainment at its finest, the film’s strong cast and striking visuals make for a thrilling
theatrical ride.”
Overall, Wrath of the Titans will be an interesting movie to watch.
