Kunal Khemu: I can never replace Emraan Hashmi
Friday, March 30th, 2012 12:13:04 by Imran Shaukat KhanThe child artist Kunal Khemu has never had the box office ringing but he is still full of confidence. The 28-year-old, who was last seen in ‘Golmaal 3 (2010)’, is now returning back to the Silver screen with Mukesh Bhatt’s ‘Blood Money’ and he is pretty confident that this movie will bring him back under the main lights.
Khemu recently shared his thoughts with the media in which he said that he had many offers but he wanted to choose the best script for himself.
“I will be very honest. Sometimes, it did bother me as to why am I not getting good scripts. You do feel sad about it, especially when you know that you can actually act. I am also not too pushy when it comes to marketing myself. I have always believed that it is my work that should do the talking,” he said.
“There were many factors for this long gap and recession was one of them. There were also very few movies coming my way. So I stayed positive and selected the best of the lot,” he added.
When Kunal initially signed ‘Blood Money’ many out there believed that perhaps he is replacing ‘Emraan Hashmi’. However, when asked, the actor rejected all reports and said that he can never replace the brand Emraan.
Kunal said, “I can never replace Emraan. He is a fabulous actor and has been a part of the production house for years now.”
‘Blood Money’ will feature Kunal Khemu in the lead role and Amrita Puri will play a role opposite to him in the movie.
The much-awaited movie, which has been directed by Vishal Mahadkar, has been released in the cinemas today so let’s see what response it gets from the audiences.
