Intruders is a Spanish film which is written by Nicolas Casariego and Jamie Marques. It was released on 7th October in Spain and is scheduled to release on 30th March in United States.
The 13 million budgeted flick follow stories of two families whose lives are disrupted by menacing apparitions. In Spain, a mother protect her son from a faceless being while in Britain a girl has a terrifying dream of a demon who becomes a real danger to
her and her family.
Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, Intruders received a rotten rating of 32 per cent in the review aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes. The rating is based on 59 reviews with an average score of 4.9 out of 10. It’s general consensus states, “Intruders has
a fantastic first act but then settles into a bland plot and scare tactics that aren’t all too scary.”
New York Times’ Manohla Dargis gave it a score of 3.5 out of five and stated, “It’s a pleasure to find that Mr. Fresnadillo has assumed the mantle of horror classicist to make "Intruders," using shadows and directorial sleights of hand to coax forth its
slow-building scares rather than just pouring on the usual guts and gore.”
Stephen Whitty from the Newark Star-Ledger gave a positive rating of three out of four and stated, “This is … an intelligent, scary little movie. Because it’s smart enough to know what’s really scary is what’s inside us.”
Lou Lumenick of the New York Post had a different opinion. He gave it a score of two out of four and declared, “"Intruders” looks great and has a promising opening, but this atmospheric Spanish psychological thriller is otherwise pretty underwhelming.”
All in all, Intruders is a way to kill time with your friends and family.
