PLS likely to postponed
Sunday, April 1st, 2012 4:43:41 by Shahrukh SohailThe much hyped about Football League is set to be post-poned due to unavailability of grounds.
India’s Soccer League has reportedly been post-poned or even cancelled according to Khushal Das, who is a high ranking AIFF member.
Speaking to reporters, the official claimed that the IFA were supposed to organize everything and that they had indeed dropped the whole project.
"It has been cancelled, this is what IFA (Indian Football Association) has told us. We sanctioned the event long back but AIFF is not managing it, IFA is. It’s for them to decide."
However IFA secretary Utpal Ganguli remained positive about the tournament starting this year.
"It will happen this year and we will make an announcement soon.”
Dharamdutt Pandey, chief executive of the Celebrity Management Ground (CMG) also commented on the matter and revealed that relevant authorities were working to solve the problem and that everything will go ahead, albeit at a later date.
"The IFA secretary is in touch with the West Bengal sports minister and grounds are likely to be available from August. We are now looking at October-November," he said.
