Waking up on time in the morning is a herculean job for most of the people. You hear the ring, hit the snooze button and imagine that time has stopped but it comes back very soon. However, some sleep-lovers unconsciously press the turn off button and then
wake up frustrated, while the time for office or school has already passed.
The 24-year-old Paul Sammut had a sort of similar problem, which he addressed in a great way. Paul recently became the centre of world-wide attention as he invented a devilish alarm clock, which produces ultimate annoying sound from hell. Paul has named
his invention the Ramos clock.
In order to activate the snooze button on this cursed clock, the user is required to enter an ever-changing PIN code on a punch pad, which is placed somewhere in another room. Sounds crazy, isn’t it?
The clock sits on a nightstand and it only stops ringing after receiving a wireless signal from the punch pad placed a room or two away. Worse, an hour before going off, it can be set to go into lockdown mode, preventing any last-minute changes to the wake
up time.
As far as its mechanism is concerned, there is an electromagnetic coil wrapped around a tube inside the clock, which causes a pin to hit the head of a concierge bell. This is somewhat similar to a customer calling for absent help when no one’s behind the
desk. The bell rings repeatedly in a random pattern and the clock stops ringing only when the required PIN is provided.
The young inventor raised $75,000 in six days after producing this devilish thing. He shared the idea behind his invention in the following manner, “In high school, I had a really good alarm clock, and it was my mom. She wouldn’t stop annoying me until I
got out of bed. I tried to think of something similar to that. After leaving home, “I could never say no to a warm, cozy bed. My alarm would go off, and I’d hit the snooze button until it was too late."
So if you have a habit of getting late for work or school, Paul Sammut’s Ramos clock is something you are missing in life.
