Our Beautiful Pakistan

Rarely has this world seen a society as resilient to not only natural disasters, but to man-made problems like Pakistan. A country which has faced martial law dictatorships from the day it was born and recently up until now. From cruel and relentless power
hungry rulers like Ayub Khan, Yayha Khan, Zia-Ul-Haq and most recently, Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan has seen them all and still lives to tell their story.

We’ve faced numerous hard hitting earthquakes, nationwide floods that make Hurricane Kartina look like normal rainfall along with extreme terrorism and wars since day one with multiple enemies, but we have never given up and do not plan on doing so.

It always has not been bad on Pakistan seeing the golden era in the early seventies when Zulifqar Ali Bhutto was elected as the first democratic Prime Minister in the nation’s history to the Islamic world’s first woman, Benazir Bhutto, being elected to the
same executive seat.

And with all those Nostradamus wannabes who predicted that Pakistan would be wiped off the map of this world on numerous occasions, guess who got the last laugh now, Pakistan of course.

Pakistan might and always has been facing a number of problems; there is no doubt about that. Sometimes it’s the economy, terrorism, shortage of electricity, inflation and the threat of war from every corner, but Pakistan has always managed to come out as
winners. We saw that during the Afghan-Russia war sponsored by the United States of America, of which we are still facing the consequences of.

Fortunately, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto made us an atomic power, thus, we avoided the same fate as countries like Iraq and Afghanistan that suffered at the hands of the Western superpowers. But we are much smarter than that, we have secured ourselves and have made
powerful allies that are always there to support us.

Pakistan is still a young and developing country and unlike nations like the United States which have been on the map for 200+ years, we still have a long way to go. Our nation needs to realise whatever the situation might be, we are better off than many
and however we might feel sometimes about our country, we have to remember that it is our Pakistan, our beautiful Pakistan.
