Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 (2012): The complete review – Part 2
Monday, April 2nd, 2012 5:00:17 by Usman KhalidAesthetically, the Tab 7.7 is like the cooler, slicker cousin of the Tab 7.0 Plus. It is 7.75 inches wide and 5.25 inches high. However, the most amazing part is its depth which is 0.38 inches, just 0.01 inches shy of being the same thin as its cousin. You know the one that gets invited to all the cool parties? The Tab 7.7’s smooth aluminium back is simply much more visually striking than the Tab 7.0 Plus’ plastic, dark-gray hind part, and the sleek metal gives the Tab 7.7 an additional bit of sexiness over its (likely jealous and hate-filled) big brother.
Beyond that, the two tablets house many of the same features, including a power button, volume rocker, and IR sensor on its top; a headphone jack and mic pinhole on the left side; dual speakers and a universal connection port on the right; and a microSD card slot on the bottom. The Tab 7.7 has a SIM card slot on the bottom as well. As with Samsung’s other tablets, there’s no HDMI port, requiring you to purchase an adapter if you want to play video from your tablet on your TV.
The bezel is thinner then 7.0 Plus from last year at 0.68 against the 0.75 inches. However, the camera in the black border is 2-mega pixels, which would be a great deal if it had a good picture and video quality both in bright light and darkness, and if the rear-view camera –the primary snapper—had been more than 3-mega pixels.
