After Vidya Balan now Veena Malik wants a female-oriented character
Wednesday, April 4th, 2012 2:48:11 by Imran Shaukat KhanBollywood buzz, Vidya Balan, is the talk of the town at this point in time and it all happened after she played a lead role in the Milan Luthria’s film ‘The Dirty Picture’, which was released last year on December 2. The actress was once again featured in the lead role in Sujoy Ghosh’s film ‘Kahaani’, which has been released recently on March 9.
‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Kahaani’ were both female-oriented films yet they did exceptionally well at the box office and perhaps this is a reason why the controversial queen of Pakistan, Veena Malik, also wants to follow Balan’s footsteps.
The Pakistani starlet Veena Malik, who rose to fame during her stint in the ‘Bigg Boss 5’ house, has recently finished shooting for three Bollywood films, ‘Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai’, ‘Zindagi 50-50’.
Malik’s first movie ‘Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai’ is comedy film whereas her second movie ‘Zindagi 50-50’ is a based drama and her third film ‘Mumbai 125 Km’ is a suspense-thriller. However, the actress has insisted that now she wants to work in a female-centric film, which she says she has always dreamed off.
“I have always tried to choose and sign such films which have a female-oriented character, where the script is based on the female protagonist,” Veena told reporters here.
Veena, who has played a lead role in all three movies, will also be seen in the upcoming film ‘Supermodel’, in which she will be featured in a lead role opposite to her ex-flame Ashmit Patel and the actress says that ‘Supermodel’ is the only film thus far in which has a hero.
She added, “I don’t have a hero in any one of films I have signed till now except ‘Supermodel’. Every film is the story of a girl and the whole story revolves around her.”
Well, all said and done, let’s see if Veena Malik really gets a female-oriented character.
