The famous classic rock band “the Beatles”, which was composed of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and John Lennon, attained most of the commercial success from 1960-1970. The band split afterward and all the members started pursuing their solo
careers but their popularity graph never came down. They have great fan following throughout the world till present day.
However, James McCartney, son of Paul, recently told the
BBC that he is going to form a new mega band with sons of other Beatles’ Members i.e. John Lennon’s son Sean, George Harrison’s son Dhani, and Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey. He said three of them have discussed the possibility of forming the Beatles 2 Band
but Starkey doesn’t seem as keen on the idea.
James stated, "I’d be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it. I don’t think it’s something that Zak wants to do. Maybe Jason [another of Starr’s sons and also a drummer] would want to do it."
It means the band may be missing a drummer in the form of Starkey. Nevertheless, all of the guys have kept their fathers’ legacy alive and are pursuing music in one way or another. Sean Lennon has had some success as a solo singer-songwriter, while Starkey
has drummed for renowned bands The Who and Oasis. Likewise, Dhani Harrison is the front man of London based rock band thenewno2. McCartney has played guitar on two of Macca’s albums and regularly plays the Cavern Club in Liverpool, where the Beatles got to
a brilliant start.
Currently, the air is full of different opinions, guesses, and what not….about the formation of Beatles 2 but according to Junior McCartney, it’s up to "the will of God" and "nature’s support."
He is quite optimistic about the formation of the group. "I dreamt of being better than The Beatles. I’m not sure if I can do that. If anything, I would love to be equal to The Beatles – but even that’s quite tough,” said James McCartney.
