Nokia Lumia 900: Full Review (2012) – Part 1
Thursday, April 5th, 2012 6:27:57 by Usman KhalidNokia showcased its first 4G LTE smartphone, Nokia Lumia 900 at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in January. Now that the handset is out on store shelves for sale, I am obliged to present the first full review of the new smartphone from the Finnish company.
At the first look, the Lumia 900 gives a strong Déjà vu feel, as it has striking resemblance to the Lumia 800 that we saw last year. However, at a closer look, which I am going to reveal in a rest of the post, the new release has a lot to offer other than the aesthetics it has inherited from Lumia 800.
As for the operating system, Microsoft and Nokia have strong ties that go back to early days of 2011, and the Lumia 900 is no exception. It comes with preloaded Windows Phone 7.5 Mango with the latest Tango updates features.
The release of the Lumia 900 is of utmost importance for the Finnish company to make a comeback into the US market. As it has been made known in the last three years, US market is dominated by smartphones and that category has two major players, iOS from Apple and Android from Google. So not only the Lumia 900 a breakthrough device for Nokia but also for Microsoft to make a strong statement.
Aside from a few drawbacks, the smartphone is a strong candidate to bring a revival to both Nokia and Microsoft. And the cons that I just said are not even big enough to make new phone a flop as they can and do occur in other smartphones as well. However, switching from efficiency of iOS and flamboyance of Android would be a tough challenge for both Nokia and MS.
