Preparations for AFC U-14 Football Festival are complete – IFA President

Islamabad Football Association (IFA) President Dr. Fazal ul Rahman expressed his confidence about the capital being ready to host the U-14 Football Festival that starts on the 11^th of April.

The Federal Capital is set to be the venue for this year’s AFC U-14 Football Festival, with many nations across the continent taking part in the prestigious competition.

Tasked with the responsibilities of organizing everything from accommodation to pitches, the IFA office has made a resounding statement that it is ready to receive foreign guests after the completion of their preparations.

Speaking to reporters, IFA President Dr. Fazal ul Rahman claimed that there were several courses being held in the Jinnah Stadium under the guidance from AFC Officials.

“A ‘C’ Certificate Coaching Course, Referee Preparatory Course and Physiotherapist Course and more are going on at the Jinnah Hall. Iranian Morteza Mohases is the coaching course instructor while AFC Youth Director John Whittle is the project director. Our
10 people are participating in the coaching course.”

He also revealed the details of tournament and admitted that it was big honour for Pakistan to be hosting such an event.

“For holding the international fixture in a benefiting manner, different committees had been constituted. Seven countries including Pakistan will take part in the youth festival of the Asian Football Confederation.”

“The participating teams will arrive in Islamabad on April 9 while the competition will commence from April 11 with a colourful opening ceremony,” he concluded.
