Saturday, April 7th, 2012 3:24:07 by Shahrukh SohailThe Asian Football Confederation’s course to refresh referees in Pakistan is underway at the Jinnah Stadium.
With the U-14 AFC Football festival being hosted by Islamabad this year, it has brought along some windfall gains to the country’s footballing fraternity.
One of the main contributions is that referees will undergo a course in order to hone their abilities and improve on their various aspects such as technical and physical fitness.
PFF Secretary Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi expressed his delight upon Pakistan hosting the events and reiterated that initiatives such as these will only help the Green-Shirts prosper in the beautiful game.
“I would like to thank AFC for providing this opportunity to Pakistan and I am hopeful that this will boost PFF drive for improvement of refereeing in Pakistan”, he said.
AFC Official John Whittle also made his feelings known and reiterated that the relationships between the referees and the course instructors will improve, as well as giving the participants the chance to learn new skills.
“I would like to advise the participants to take advantage of this chance provided to you. You should establish friendly relations with the instructors for updating your knowledge and developing new skills,” he said.
