Automobiles expected in 2013 – Hint: New York Auto Show – Part 1

We always see futuristic designs from every automaker in the world incorporated in their concept cars, at every auto show. Most of them never even see the light of the day and some are released with major changes to the outlook and specs when they are rolled out of the manufactories.

However, the 2012 New York Auto Show spotlighted a slew of concept cars from almost every participant at the event, and my guts tell me that most of them will be release in 2013 or 2014 with little or no changes.

The concept cars are the ones that are still on the paper mostly or on the board. However, most of them get past the prototype phase. Most of the articles shown at the NY Auto show were either the prototypes or were in that stage.

Following are some of the concept cars that will be release next year or the year after. Remember, the concept in order is hybrid technology, for most at least.

2013 SRT Viper

After replacing Dodge with SRT and turning it into a SBU, Chrysler is planning to release the first Viper in the market in 2013. However, Where the old Viper relied on raw power, this new version takes advantage of technology to improve its performance handling and everyday driveability. And what SRT has produced looks like something that can go head-to-head with the supercars of the world. Traction and launch control systems now keeps the 600 pound-feet of torque in reserve to churn the most power out of the vehicle.
