Simon Cowell concerned with ‘The Voice’ success
Tuesday, April 10th, 2012 2:11:53 by Waqas TariqThe TV mogul is reportedly concerned with the huge success of ‘The Voice UK’ and is not happy with the plunging rating of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ this season. ‘The Voice’ was a huge hit in the US last year and has been brought to Britain this season with the likes of Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones, Danny O’Donoghue and will.i.am.
A close source to Simon Cowell has revealed that the producer is not happy with the way BGT is faring this season and is concerned with the huge success of the BBC rival show. It was reported that Simon is eager to get the better of ‘The Voice’ and wants to introduce a few changes to his show to garner some attention.
“Simon wasn’t happy when he saw the ratings. He likes to be number one in everything he does. He has told producers they must make BGT even better. He is known as being a perfectionist and this will only renew his desire to beat The Voice,” it was revealed.
If rumours are to be believed, Simon Cowell sees the BBC show as a major threat to ‘The X Factor’ and is worried that the former would become a much favoured show amongst the audience.
“The big fear is that viewers will start seeing The Voice as the leading singing show. That would mean the best singers flocking to apply to it instead of The X Factor – and these shows live or die on their talent,” the source concluded.
Britain’s Got Talent and The Voice attract millions of viewers on Saturday every week.
