Reiterating his demands for early election, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif said as long as the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) rules, problems would not be solved in the country.

While speaking to media on the occasion of PPP senator Anwar Baig’s inclusion in the PML-N, Nawaz Sharif said that the nation was not ready to tolerate the incumbent any longer.

He observed, “The government had better announce election. Scandals of corruption have been emerging on daily basis”.

The two-time former prime minister also said that the record increase in corruption was being observed in the present regime.

While replying to a query regarding infamous Memogate scandal, Sharif said that he had not backed off from the case as he was who moved the Supreme Court.

He also informed that he had dispatched legal notice Younis Habib for taking his name in Mehran Bank case.

Commenting on the US-Pak relations, he said that he had passed his reservation to US Ambassador Cameron Munter regarding drone strikes. He commented, “We stand by our view point on NATO supplies”.

Commenting on the situation of Gilgit-Baltistan, he said imposing curfews was not a lasting solution to the law and order situation in the region. In his view, the latest statements of President Asif Ali Zardari proved that they were playing a role of a friendly opposition party.

Earlier, PPP’s leader and former Senator Anwar Baig announced his joining with the PML-N. While interacting with the media, he said that the county was passing through crucial time and the PML-N was the only party that could steer Pakistan out of all the problems.

Later, Nawaz Sharif appointed Anwar Baig member of the Central Executive Council (CEC) of the party.

Anwar Baig has resigned from the party after the PPP suspended his membership for meeting with Nawaz Shairf.
