Leah Neale and Ami Matsuo conquered gold medal of their exclusive events on second day of the Australian Age Championships in Brisbane.
Neale demonstrated her gruelling efforts in the Girls 16 Year Olds 400m freestyle event and emerged on the victory stand for gold medal as she ended her race in a time of 4 minutes and 10.99 seconds.
With her epic performance, she remained almost five seconds ahead of Amelia Gould, who clocked a time of 4 minutes and 15.15 seconds for silver medal. The second position holder of the event was chased by Tabitha Baumann, who stayed marginally away and posted
4 minutes and 15.21 seconds for bronze medal.
In the meantime, Matsuo dominated the Girls 100m freestyle in 15 Year Olds category and posted a time of 54.88 seconds. Her effort was followed by Sophie Taylor, who occupied silver medal of the discipline by ending her swim in a time of 56.97 seconds.
Her effort was chased by Brittany McEvoy, who proved her eligibility for bronze medal of the discipline by hitting the wall with the timing of 57.17 seconds.
Third event of the session was Girls 14 Year Olds 200m freestyle, where Amy Forrester clocked a time of 2 minutes and 14.05 seconds for gold medal of the event.
Forrester was chased by Sian Whittaker, who proved her eligibility for silver medal of the event by posting a time of 2 minutes and 18.03 seconds.
Whittaker was followed by Emily Steer, who reached the podium for bronze medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 18.81 seconds.
Afterwards, Abbey Harkin transpired on the finishing end as finest swimmer in the Girls 12-13 200m IM event. Harkin won gold medal of the event with the timing of 2 minutes and 19.02 seconds.
She was followed by Chelsea Gubecka, who occupied silver medal of the discipline by hitting the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 21.53 seconds. Gubecka was trailed by Ella Bond, who ended third in 2 minutes and 22.94 seconds.
The session ended after the completion of all events while the podium finishers were awarded accolades after the session.
