Bipasha Basu: Singularity very much on the track

The dusky beauty, Bipasha Basu, is all set to make her Hollywood debut with Roland Joffe’s upcoming film ‘Singularity’, in which she will be seen playing a lead role opposite to the American superstar Josh Harnett and the actress has confirmed that the audiences will be able to see the film.

‘Singularity’ was facing some financial problems as a result to which many out there believed that the film will not see the daylight but when asked Bipasha, she rubbished all reports by saying that her film is very much on the track.

“Yes, there was a slight delay, but the film’s very much on track,” she said.

In the meanwhile, Bips insisted that working on the film was an amazing experience for her and she commended the director of the movie Joffe for his professionalism and nice behaviour. The actress said she also has plans to meet Joffe and Harnett again.

“I am looking forward to meeting them again soon,” she enthused.

Bipasha, now 33, locked many headlines during the shooting of the films as rumours revolving around suggested that may be she has started an affair with Harnett. Therefore, Bipasha was also asked about it.

The actress confirmed that Josh is just a friend to him and there is nothing more to it.

“Josh and I got along really well, but it’s ridiculous to link us just because we are co-stars,” she said.

In the end, Bipasha was asked about what she thinks are the differences between Hollywood and Bollywood movies.

“The differences between Hollywood and Bollywood are purely technical. That’s mostly because the budgets there are huge, and the scale is larger,” insisted Bipasha.

“But at the end of the day it’s all about a bunch of people working passionately for their film. That love for the art and craft of films and filmmaking is common, whether it’s Hollywood, Bollywood or regional cinema,” added the actor.

‘Singularity’ is currently in post-production and it is scheduled to hit the cinemas at the 65 annual ‘Cannes International Film Festival’ in May.
