Unknown miscreants killed these people in three different firing incidents on Saturday morning. Although the city is observing a complete shutter-down strike against targeted killings of Shia community, the day started with a bad news.
The first incident of firing was occurred at Brewery road where a group of unidentified militants attacked a cab carrying people from Hazara community, killing all of them at the spot. Without any surprise, the attackers managed to flee the crime scene comfortably.
The spot is situated near a locality of Hazara community and it has already been targeted many times before in last few months.
Superintendent of Police Saddar Town Malik Ashraf confirming the incident said that police has started investigation into the incident to identify the culprits.
Deputy Inspector General Police Qazi Wahid observed, “The victims were on their way to Killi Ibraimzai from Hazara Town when attacked. It is a case of sectarian targeted killing. Police have been deputed in different parts of the city to maintain law and order”.
A man belonging to the Hazara community was gunned down on Sabzal Road in another incident of barbarism.
In third incident of brutality, unidentified assailants having immunity killed a police official in Shal Kot area, on the outskirts of Quetta. Again, the attackers managed to escape the crime scene without any clue.
On Friday, Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) called for a complete shutter-down strike against the genocide of Shia sect in the province.
All the shops and markets on Prince Road, Brewery, Joint Road, Liaquat Bazar, Alamdar Road, Jinnah Town, Hazara Town and other areas were closed.
Stringing security measures have been adopted across the provincial capital with the heavy deployment of Frontier Corps (FC), police and other law enforcement agencies.
