Brittany Elmslie and David Morgan capture gold medals – Australian Age Championships, Brisbane

Brittany Elmslie and David Morgan of stunned the aquatic crowd by winning gold medals of their respective events on fourth day of the 2012 Australian Age Championships at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre.

Firstly, Elmslie overpowered her opponents in the Girls 17-18 year Olds 100m butterfly discipline, where she clocked time of 1 minute and 00.04 seconds. She was followed by Mikka Sheridan, who occupied silver medal of the event by posting a time of 1 minute
and 00.44 seconds

The third spot of the discipline was secured by Jordan White, who remained considerably behind her foregoing finisher and posted a time of 1 minute and 01.23 seconds.

After that, David Morgan dominated the equivalent event in Boys age group. Morgan stayed slightly ahead of her following swimmers and hit the wall with the timing of 54.00 seconds for gold medal.

His title claiming effort was chased by Cameron McEvoy, who stayed just one stroke slower and posted a time of 54.06 seconds for gold medal. McEvoy was trailed by Hugo Morris, who was just one and a half stroke slower and posted a time of 54.15 seconds for
bronze medal.

Next was the Girls 16 Year Olds 200m freestyle playoff, where Brianna Throssell occupied the title of the discipline by hitting the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 00.01 seconds.

Throssell was trailed by Leah Neale, who captured silver medal of the discipline by hitting the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 00.50 seconds. Neale was trailed by Carla Buchanan, who occupied bronze medal of the event with an effort of 2 minutes and
01.54 seconds.

In the meantime, Alexander Graham occupied gold medal of the 200m freestyle in Boys category, where he posted 1 minute and 49.84 seconds for gold medal.

His effort remained comfortably ahead of Regan Leong, who won silver medal of the event with an effort of 1 minute and 51.22 seconds.

Leong was chased by Jake Hodgetts, who claimed third position of the event with the timing of 1 minute and 51.85 seconds.

Furthermore, the session ended after the completion of all swimming events.
