Chief Minister of Punjab and the younger brother of PML-N President, Shahbaz Sharif has questioned PPP government’s silence over the creation of Bahawalpur province.
Talking to the media reporters at the inaugural ceremony of the Mian Mir Sports Complex at Basti Saidan Shah, Upper Mall, on Sunday, the Punjab chief minister said that the real national leadership, not the looters, should decide about the creation of new provinces.
Sharif said that no one will be allowed to grab the rights of the most populated province of Pakistan. He further added that government’s silence over Bahawalpur province was an injustice to the people of Bahawalpur.
The Punjab CM also said that after dissolution of one unit Bahawalpur province should have been restored adding that by not doing so, the people of Bahawalpur was exploited.
Shahbaz Sharif said any looter would not be allowed to usurp the resources of Punjab. He said the day of accountability of the looters of national wealth had come close and the nation would hold them accountable and recover from them the looted national wealth.
Meanwhile, President Asif Zardari has announced his intention to set up a Seraiki bank and has also asked businessmen from across south Punjab to submit proposals for the venture.
