Karachi: (Tuesday, April 17, 2012) The Karachi Stock Exchange, that is witnessing a dipping trend since the beginning of this week, observed the 100-index going down further, albeit to a lower margin.
As the day closed today, the 100-index ended 0.05 percent down or at 6.48 points, at 13,764.22. The overall trade volume remained at 268.73 million shares as compared to yesterday’s 261 million shares.
With the fertilizers firms getting under pressure after the FFBL posted a quarterly loss that was significantly larger than the expectations, stocks couldn’t maintain their value.
Commenting on today’s developments, a dealer at the Topline Securities said, “Investors preferred to book gains in the fertilizer sector after a more-than-expected loss posted by FFBL”.
