Bollywood actress kidnapped and brutally beheaded by fellow actors

Young Bollywood actress Meenakshi Thapar, who appeared last year in a Hindi psychological thriller ‘404’, was allegedly kidnapped by two struggling actors who later on brutally murdered.

As per the reports, Thapar was first strangled. Then beheaded and the rest of her body hacked to pieces and it all happened just because of money.

Amit Jaiswal, 36, and his lover Preeti Surin thought Thapar was from a rich family because of her lifestyle but they didn’t know that actually she had a middleclass background. The couple invited her on a trip to Gorakhpur, a small town close to India’s border with Nepal, where they held her as a hostage and called her parents, demanding 1.5 million rupees ($30,000) in ransom.

According to the Telegraph, Thapar’s mother immediately wired 60,000 rupees ($1,200) into her daughters account but still Amit and Surin killed her in one of the most unthinkable manners.

“The accused believed that Thapa was from a wealthy family because her lifestyle, despite not landing a big film role, hid the fact that she actually came from a middleclass background. Hence, they plotted to kidnap her for a ransom of Rs 15 lakh and kill her after the payment was made,” a police officer said.

Both Amit and Surin, who moved to India’s film city in a hope to find stardom in Bollywood, threw Thapar’s head from a bus while they were coming back to Mumbai.

The murderers have now been arrested by the police and they have confessed to the murder as well.

The police have told the media that they are still investigating the case because Thapar’s body has not been fully recovered.

“We are still investigating the case and both the accused along with a police team are visiting the crime spot. We have yet to recover the body.

“They wanted to extort money from her family. They have confessed to the crime. She was strangulated in a hotel and her body was hacked into pieces and thrown in a water tank. They threw her head from a moving bus while travelling back to Mumbai,” a detective leading the inquiry told The Daily Telegraph.
