The storage device, though has very limited capacity, is a solid-state drive, there are no optical drives and the processors are SoC mostly that are energy efficient and emit no or little heat. Moreover, due to its slate like structure, they do not incorporate hinges.
Lack of a physical keyboard
As the tablets are not laptops, they do not incorporate physical keyboards. This might seem like a threat to those who are not so tech savvy and work on physical touch of the keys. However, the virtual keyboards work as fine as the physical ones on these slates. The more you work on them the more you get used to them.
Mostly, the employees do not have lengthy typing in their job description and/or spread sheet work that might require a physical keyboard. For such employees, a virtual keyboard should be easy to get used and more fun to work on.
That being said, there are companies that live on letters and textual content. For such a niche in the market, there are various option, wireless keyboards and docks available in the market that a low-cost products and a volume purchase might bring the price even down from that.
