Pakistani Singer Ali Azmat to sing ‘Jism 2’ songs

Pooja Bhatt’s upcoming erotic thriller ‘Jism 2’ is one of the most-eagerly awaited movies and the main reason behind is the presence of the Indo-Canadian porn star, Sunny Leone, as she will play a lead role in the film. However, to add more fuel to the fire, the Pakistani singer Ali Azmat has also jumped in to lend his voice.

Ali Azmat song ‘Garaj Baras’ in ‘Paap’ became a huge hit all over the world and now he is coming back to the Indian filmmaking industry after a long gap. He is recording two numbers for ‘Jism 2’ and the singer has discussed about it in his exclusive interview with ‘TIMES OF INDIA’.

Ali was asked about the reason behind is long gap from B-Town, on which he said, “After “Paap”, I had done two songs each for Sudhir Mishra’s “Tera Kya Hoga Johnny” and Rahul Dholakia’s “Mumbai Cutting.” But the movies never got released. It’s not that I wouldn’t like to do the regular Bollywood songs but the fact is that I couldn’t do it. The songwriting style in Bollywood is so different.”

He remarked, “It feels good to work with friends. I’ve known Pooja (Bhatt) and Munish Makhija. This new composer, Arko Prova Mukherjee, is promising. He has penned the lyrics and composed the tunes.”

Ali Azmat rose to fame during the 1996 cricket World Cup with his song ‘Hai Jazba Junoon’, in which he also had Salman Ahmad with him. However, the two are not friends anymore as a result to which their band ‘Junoon’ doesn’t exist anymore.

Nevertheless, Azmat was asked about Salman since he is now planning to enter into the Bollywood industry.

The rock star wished his old fellow good but in the meantime he revealed that he himself is open to all Bollywood films and would love to act, if given a chance.

He concluded, “Good luck to him. I’ve done Pakistani telefilms and I like the idea of transforming myself. My videos (read ” Bum Bum Phaata”) are hard-hitting satires where I’ve mimicked politicians. I’m interested in character acting and am open to doing Indian movies if the offers are good.”
