Ad spending soars past expectations in Spain

The Spanish market is expected to spend 1,257 million Euros in mobile content and 133 million Euros at the expense of advertising investment. While most of the consumer spending is approximately (59.2%) owing
to the data programs and Internet browsers, making mobile operators, the main beneficiaries, the key to growth are the applications of Smartphones.
In 2011, more than 23,000 million applications were downloaded worldwide and according to some reports the figure will rise by 38% this year. The mobile applications represent the second largest source of revenue,
both for consumer spending as advertising investment.
Despite the relative importance in terms of total investment, the music remains one of the most important categories, spending of 52.3 million Euros were recorded in the Spanish market in 2012, with an approximately increase
of 4.2% as compared to 2011.
However, the manner in which the consumer agrees to pay for this music is changing. Services streaming like Spotify, Pandora or Deezer are gaining immense ground
in respect of the subscription or advertising.
As in the case of Aplis, downloading videos via mobile phones grows dramatically, however, unlike the applications, it does not translate into a significant increase in revenue (17%).
The worldwide consumers are likely to invest 105.612 million Euros to download mobile content in 2012, 13.4% more than 2011 and the advertisement spending will get nearly the double figures, from 4,804 to 8,904,000 Euros.
