Geo News: Promoting Indian Culture? (Part II/II)

Geo Super, the sports channel, have been showing IPL matches live, although no current Pakistani player is part of the any IPL team. Every news bulletin updates about matches that have been played or are going to be played, simply promoting IPL for no reason.
And the advertisement for IPL matches is just so vulgar and un-ethical. I believe every Pakistani is more interested about Pakistan cricket team but Geo Super fails to telecast any of the Pakistan team matches. The list of recent Pakistan series not shown
by Geo Super is given below:

• Asia Cup
• Pakistan Vs. Bangladesh
• Pakistan Vs. Sri Lanka
• Hong Kong Super Sixes
• Pakistan Vs. Zimbabwe
• Pakistan Vs. Ireland
• Pakistan Vs. West Indies

Again, it can happen once or twice, but if it happens repeatedly, my curiosity increase further that why Geo is doing it?

Geo Entertainment, the daily drama channel, is another place where I find Geo promoting Indian culture. Most of the dramas have Indian and Pakistani actors/actresses again promoting Indian cultural values. Moreover, recently released Pakistani movie ‘BOL’
(produced by Geo) had a scene where a Pakistani girl was shown praying to Allah so that Sachin can make a hundred. I simply cannot believe any true Pakistani cricket fan can do this in his or her life. By now, my curiosity has crossed all levels and now I
was on a mission to find out why Geo is promoting Indian culture in Pakistan and acting more on Indian agenda, than that of a Pakistan.

By doing a simple search on Google it came to my knowledge that Geo was setup in its early days by a company called Intelligent Media Consultant, which is based in USA and currently list Geo as their client. I was intrigued to find about the company and
it comes out that the owner of the company, Mr David Hazinski, has close relations with US State Department and American Jewish Community. I was shocked!

If you look at the list, the other channels set up by the same company are mostly Indian channels like NDTV, CNN-IBN, Star news and one can clearly see that all these channels are started by the same company and are very tightly connected when coming to
show news content.

Then, I turned to YouTube, to find something against Geo, and YouTube was full of anti-Geo content. The most interesting one is the video interview of famous ‘Ajmal Kassab’, one of the terrorist in Mumbai 26/11 attacks, who during the interview pleads to
‘Bhagwan’ for help. Watch this video if you have not, this is clearly shocking.
