US Ambassador to Pakistan, Cameron Munter said on Thursday that the United States would accept the recommendations of Pakistan’s Parliament and respects the decisions of the representative government.
Talking to Pakistan Television, he said that the US and Pakistan wanted to work together on common concerns and both sides should have a realistic discussion and move forward to reset bilateral ties.
The ambassador said that both sides wanted to decide on what is the best way to move forward on a policy which addresses counter terrorism, Afghanistan, NATO supply and reconciliation process according to Parliamentary recommendations.
Munter said that the two countries must get rid of their differences and it is about time that Pakistan and the US decide to take their relations forward.
He said that the US wants to help Pakistan resolve its energy crisis by reforming the energy system.
While maintaining that the attack on Salala check post was not deliberate, he said that the US has expressed enormous regret and sorrow over it, and have undertaken steps to ensure that there was no repeat of the events of November 26, 2011.
