The phone features top-notch technologies available in the market. From an 8-mega pixel camera on the back to beats audio, HTC has all covered in this stunning phone, despite it falling in the midrange category.
Below the screen are three Android Ice Cream Sandwich capacitive buttons for Back, Home, and Recent Applications. The left and right sides hold a Micro-USB port and slim volume bar. A power button and 3.5 mm headphone jack sit on the top edge.
The primary camera at the back is 8-mega pixels and can shoot 1080p full HD videos. The picture quality is better if not the best in the market. The colours emerge separately and brightly without smudging and there is no tint of any shade, yellow or green or red. However, the focus struggles for a while taking the toll on shutter speed.
Under the hood is a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, supported by 1GB of RAM. However, memory is not dedicated. One S consumes 1GB of the 16 GB storage built into the phone.
The storage is one of the weak points that the phone comes with. HTC has not equipped One S with expandable memory slot. However, its fixed 16 GB capacity is more than enough in $199 price tag. Moreover, HTC offers complimentary 25GB of free online storage on its Dropbox cloud service.
Operating System
One S’ operating system is its major selling point. The smartphone comes with Android’s latest creation, Ice Cream Sandwich or commonly known as Android 4.0. However, One S, being the creation of HTC, also incorporates HTC Sense 4, which is an incremental upgrade to its previous version, Sense 3.
