Shazam getting popular

Shazam, a popular music service, which works on: iPhone, Blackberry, Android and Nokia, needs just a second to connect to the Internet and provides the user with all the details like title, artist, author and album.

Its database has over 60 million songs. Jonathan Davies (Wales, 1983), head of alliances of this service, visited Madrid for The App Fest, a gathering of creative’s and developers focused on the world of applications, explains
that the key to success is constantly reinventing, with certain limits.

"At the moment, we propose that when someone sings a melody which can be identified, that would be too variable, with different voices and intonations. We do not want to disappoint our audience, "he explains.

Shazam, whose name is the English equivalent to ‘presto’ of the Magi when they do their trick, is headquartered in London and has offices in New York and Palo Alto (California).

Their latest release is its integration with television which is only available in America at the moment. It allows you to receive discount coupons on the phone or more information about the ads whenever activated by the user.

"It is our great project of growth, beyond the music, which is in our DNA. We delve into exploring the possibilities of interaction, "says the manager.

The Shazam application for the display of the room is not limited to advertising, as it works with additional information about the program at issue.

The battle between iPhone and Android is also reflected in this platform. The num of mobile subscribers with the apple still exceeds that of Android but Davies believes that it’ll soon be at par.
