In order to hold a fair and transparent probe, Interior Minister Rehman Malik announced that the name of Farooq Bhoja, owner of Bhoja Airline, has been put in Exit Control List (ECL).

While speaking to the media, the active-minister clarified that action will be taken against all the culprits involved in the disastrous incident of plane crash near Benazir Bhutto airport.

He observed, “Thorough investigation would be made in order to find out that who gave permission to fly an obsolete plane”.

He informed that President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani had directed him to take stern actions against the management of Bhoja Airline without accepting any pressure or influence.

Rehman Malik asserted that a high-level probe committee would be constituted to investigate the incident. The premier will announce the names of the committee on Saturday, he added.

Although the report of the previous plane crash is not made public thus far, the minister claimed that investigation report would be launched publically. The rescue operation at the crash site has been completed and all the corpses were shifted to PIMS (Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences), he added.

He noted, “85 percent of rescue operation is completed but weather conditions are not in favor of rescue operation”. Commenting on reason of the plane-crash, he said that apparently the plane crash happened due to the bad weather conditions.

A Bhoja Air Boeing (BA) Co. 737-200 with 127 people on board on Friday crashed near Chaklala Air base. The Boeing 737 was carrying 118 passengers and nine crew members.

According to eyewitnesses, the plane was up in flames even before it crashed to the ground.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Amir Ahmed Ali said the medico-legal examination and identification of the body parts would be carried out at PIMS. “DNA tests will also be conducted,” he said, adding that a cold storage had been hired for the purposes.

An official of the rescue said, “We have a huge hall where the bodies will be placed for the time being. It will take at least three to four days before we can clear the area. And the investigation will have to wait till Saturday morning”.

It is vital to mention here that Bhoja Air resumed its operation in March 30, 2012 after 10-year gap as first flight took off from Karachi for Islamabad on schedule time.
