The Mountains of Southwest China’s river systems also feed most species-rich in Asia, including several aspects of the Yangtze River. Illegal hunting, overgrazing and firewood collection are among the main threats to biodiversity in the region.
The construction of the largest dam in history, Three Gorges on the Yangtze River, and began to threaten and will continue to seriously threaten the biodiversity of the region. It plans to build dams on all major rivers, affecting ecosystems and livelihoods
of millions. In conclusion, only 8% of the original extent of this place is kept in optimum conditions.
It is an area of ??similar climate to the Mediterranean regions and has high levels of plant endemism characteristic of these regions. It is home to the giant sequoia, the largest living organism on the planet, and some of the latest copies of the California
condor, the largest bird in North America.
In fact, it is the largest area of ??breeding birds in the United States. Some species of large mammals that once inhabited this earth are extinct, including the brown bear (Ursus arctos), which appears on the flag of California and has been a status symbol
