Metallica, an American heavy metal band, is reportedly planning to feature in the upcoming Dio tribute album and the band’s front-man and rhythm guitarist, James Hetfield, has revealed that it is an honour to be featuring on the album.
“We reached out to Wendy Dio about wanting to be a part of the Dio tribute that’s getting put together. We’re very honoured to be a part of that, and to be a part of a celebration of Ronnie’s life and his great contribution, man”, Hetfield said while talking
to Metalhammer.
Lars Ulrich, Metallica drummer and percussionist, has also confirmed the band’s plans to feature on the tribute album.
“We’re definitely looking to do the record Wendy’s putting together for Ronnie. We were asked if we’d contribute to the anniversary of [classic Deep Purple album] ‘Machine Head,’ too – we can’t turn that down. We’re circling the Dio and Purple catalogues
and hopefully we’ll come up with something that is worthy of these wonderful men”, Ulrich stated.
