‘Houseful 2’ crosses ‘Rs. 100 crore’ mark at the Box Office

Sajid Khan multi-starrer comic caper ‘Houseful 2’ has finally crossed the ‘Rs. 100 crore’ mark. The film has collected an amount of Rs. 102.23 crore in 17 days and after ‘Agneepath’ it is now the only second film of this year to do so.

‘Houseful 2’, which is a sequel to the last year’s release, garnered Rs. 42 crore in the opening weekend at the box office but it kept on running in the cinemas later on as well. So much so that the Indian Premier League (IPL) couldn’t even put any affect on the film.

“Sajid Khan’s film made approximately Rs. 102.25 crore nett in 17 days. The multi-starrer made Rs. 8.50 crore nett in its third weekend at the box-office,” reports koimoi.com.

Trade expert Taran Adarsh was very happy with the last weekend as he believes all the cinemas remained full during the Saturdays and Sundays.

“Good morninggg. It was a great weekend for Bollywood. #Housefull2 crossed 100 cr, #VickyDonor is a winner, #HateStory scored at s screens,” Trade expert Taran Adarsh tweeted on Monday.

“#Housefull2 *Week 3* Fri 1.75 cr, Sat 2.75 cr. Total: Rs. 97.5 cr nett. Should touch 100 cr mark today [Sunday],” Adarsh had earlier tweeted.

The 44-year-old actor Akshay Kumar is known as the Khiladi of the Indian film industry but still his last few films were unable to entertain the audiences. Perhaps this is a reason why he was super-excited as well with the success of the film.

“For all those congratulating me for Housefull 2, honestly 100 crores is just a number but I’d be lying if I would say it doesn’t matter. Hearing/reading words like superhit, excellent business, great word of mouth, back in form, are music to any actor’s ears but again YOU guys are the only reason behind it. THANK YOU ALL for watching & enjoying Housefull 2. God bless you all always,” tweeted Akshay Kumar.

Akshay will now be seen in Prabhudheva’s upcoming film ‘Rowdy Rathore’, which is scheduled to hit the cinemas on June 1.
