Arkadiy Vyatchanin and Elena Sokolova outshined in the Men’s 200m backstroke and Women’s 200m freestyle on fourth day of the Russian Long Course Nationals in Moscow on Saturday, April 21.
Vyatchanin smothered hopes of his challengers by gaining gold medal of the 200m event by submitting a time of 1 minute and 57.42 seconds.
His gold winning effort remained almost 0.60 seconds ahead of Anton Anchin, who claimed silver medal of the discipline by posting a time of 1 minute and 58.12 seconds.
Anchin was trailed by Vitaliy Borisov, who remained nearly two seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 00.55 seconds.
Following that, Sokolova remained dominant in the Women’s 200m freestyle as she claimed gold medal of the discipline with the timing of 1 minute and 58.94 seconds.
The champion was followed by Maria Baklakova, who seized silver medal of the discipline by touching the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 00.83 seconds. She was followed by Dania Beljakina, who stayed just 0.01 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher
and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 00.84 seconds.
In the meantime, Yuliya Efimova occupied gold medal of the Women’s 50m breaststroke, where she hit the wall with an effort of 30.15 seconds.
She was followed by Dania Deeva, who remained 1.35 seconds behind and hit the wall with the timing of 31.50 seconds.
The third spot of the race was secured by Valentina Artemyeva, who captured bronze medal of the event by submitting a time of 31.78 seconds.
Meanwhile, Andrey Greychin seized gold medal of the Men’s 50m freestyle by producing an effort of 21.82 seconds.
The champion was followed by Sergey Fesikov, who completed her swim in second best place with the timing of 22.05 seconds.
Fesikov was trailed by Vladimir Morozov, who captured bronze medal of the discipline by clocking a time of 22.06 seconds.
Furthermore, the session ended after the conclusion of all planned events while the position holders were awarded accolades after the session.
