Lahore: (Tuesday, April 24, 2012) A blast at Lahore railway station here today rendered at least three persons dead and 35 injured. Those injured also included an infant. According to the news, injured have been shifted to Meo
Hospital and Services Hospital for medical treatment.
According to details, the blast happened at Platform No. 2 at around 7:00 in the evening. The rescue sources confirmed that the dead included a police constable named Sadeeq, a carriage bearer named Mohammad Boota, and an unidentified
traveler.
According to the initial investigation, the bomb, that was planted in waiting lounge of a business train, was locally prepared. The heavy blast ensued chaos at railway station. Presently, large number of security officials have
surrounded the Lahore railway station while stringent security measures are being taken at the Rawalpindi Railway Station.
There has been news that about two hours ago presence of a suspected bag was reported at the railways station, however, the news was not taken seriously by the respective departments and authorities.
