The white orca whale, who has been called Iceberg, is the first and only known entirely white adult orca.
He is living in a family group with 12 other resident orcas in the waters of the north-west Pacific Ocean off the east Asian coast of Russia.
The photographs were captured by the Far East Russia Orca Project (Ferop) who are dedicated to researching and protecting orcas in the waters of Kamchatka and the Commander Islands.
Infant white orcas have been seen before but Iceberg is a fully mature whale according to Ferop.
Erich Hoyt, who co-led the Russian project, said: "It has the full two-metre-high dorsal fin of a mature male, which means it is at least 16-years-old. In fact the fin is somewhat ragged, so it might be a bit older."
Hoyt hopes the sighting will inspire a fresh eco-drive in our oceans. He added: "In many ways, Iceberg is a symbol of all that is pure, wild and extraordinarily exciting about what is out there in the ocean waiting to be discovered.
The challenge is to keep the ocean healthy so that such surprises are always possible."
