Tim Story’s Think Like a Man is a 2012 comedy flick which was released on 20th April. It is based on Steve Harvey’s novel, ‘Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man’ and is produced by Glenn S. Gianor. It stars Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Meagan Good, Regina Hall,
Kevin Hart and Steve Harvey.
The $12 million budget movie follows four women who use Steve Harvey’s book for advice about relationships. As a result their men got in the right path until the men finds out what their women have been doing.
The film received mixed reviews from critics worldwide. Review aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes, stated a rotten rating of 50 per cent based on 68 reviews. The site’s general consensus states, “In Think Like a Man, an otherwise standard rom-com is partially
elevated by a committed — and attractive — cast, resulting in a funny take on modern romance.”
Ann Hornaday of the Washington post gave a score of 2.5 out of four and stated, “It seeks to rescue contemporary black storytelling from the clutches of men in drag and misogynist moralizing.”
Tampa Bay Times’ top film critic, Steve Persall gave a rating of B. He was quoted, “Think Like a Man is a glossily condensed version of some of Harvey’s key ideas, performed by an attractive cast with several moments of highly amusing clarity.”
Eric D. Snider on the other hand had a different opinion. The Film.Com top critic gave the movie a C+ rating. He also commented, “Drastically overlong, burdened by too many stories about too many couples who are too one-dimensional to be relatable.”
IMDB gave a score of 4.7 out of 10 based on 1,086 users while Metacritic gave it a score of 51 out of 100.
Overall, it’s a good way to spend time with your friends and family.
