Aditya Chopra wants ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ to break all records at Box Office
Tuesday, April 24th, 2012 4:19:53 by Imran Shaukat KhanThese days the director Aditya Chopra is pretty busy as she is developing special marketing and promotional strategies with Salman Khan in order to make his upcoming film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ a huge success at the box office.
According the sources, Chopra not only wants her film to be a blockbuster but she also wants it to surpass Amir Khan’s ‘3 idiot’, which struck gold at the box office last year.
The sources have confirmed that Chopra and Salman have plans to release the film with a record number of prints in India and overseas. Moreover, they are planning to make some T-shirts with the films posters printed on them.
“Chopra scion is sparing no effort or cost to ensure that when the Kabir Khan directed film Ek Tha Tiger, also featuring Katrina Kaif, opens on Eid, it rakes in the highest collections ever. The idea is to not only surpass Bodyguard’s first day collections of Rs 20 crore, but also the opening day numbers of Rs 26 crore registered by Agneepath, if possible,” said a source.
“This is also why the makers will be releasing the film with a record number of prints in India and the overseas circuit,” the source added.
“There’s also a plan for some merchandise associated with the film, like T-shirts for example. Things will be finalised by May-end, so they can start the promotional campaign early June,” sums up our source.
‘Ek Tha Tiger’, which will feature Salman Khan and his ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif in the lead roles, is scheduled to hit the cinemas on August 17 and Aditya is planning a series of visits to overseas to the countries like US, UK, UAE and Australia, so that the film registers record collections abroad too.
Well, all said and done, this year ‘Agneepath’ and ‘Houseful 2’ are the only two films that have collected more than Rs. 100 crore at the box office. Let’s see if Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ becomes the third one or not.
