Lahore set to host AFC President’s Cup

The Sri Lankan Cricket team in 2009 was attacked whilst on their way to a test match and since then only a few teams have ventured into the country for footballing reasons.
Palestine and Malaysia proved last time out that Pakistan is still capable of holding International events and it has prompted the PFF to bid for this year’s AFC President’s Cup.
After successfully winning the rights, Lahore is set to be the venue amidst criticism from some sectors regarding security issues.
While Bangladesh’s representative for the tournament has bowed out, an AFC official has reiterated that things will go as planned and the competition should kick-off according to schedule.
Tariq Lutfi’s KRL are the ones raising the bar for the home country, but it remains to be seen whether they can get past the group stages or not.
